There are so many alternatives these days it can be confusing to know what's best for your pet as well as the best value for you. The choices can be distilled to two main types - raw meat or commercial processed diets.
Your pet has evolved to eat raw meat, vegetable matter and bone. Feeding a raw diet can mean a little more work as (ideally) you'll need to mix in some vegetables and other ingredients - but your pet will be perfectly happy and healthy once you get the balance right.
Feeding a raw diet doesn't exclude feeding good quality dry foods as well. The 'better' dry foods are considered whole and balance so you can include them as part of a raw diet if you want.
We stock and recommend you consider:
Fresh raw meat and bones
Vet's All Natural Premium Choice or Complete Mix
BARF Diet
Missing Link Super Supplement
Dry foods have come a long way since they first appeared as a convenience food in the 60's. They have improved to the state where you can happily feed your pet wholy on a dry food - assuming it is a "Good" quality one. As with the Raw diet, you can feed raw meat as a part of a dry food diet if you want. The key is that the fresh meat portion is balanced like the dry food.
