Why feed fresh raw meat?

Dogs and Cats have evolved of the aeons to eat raw, fresh meat and bone. They naturally predate on small - usually vegetarian - animals and eat them entirely. If the prey was big, the stomach contents would be eaten first, followed by the organs, then muscle meat and bones last. That's because the stomach contents are partially digested already, making it the easiest to digest. The organs are next best, followed by muscle meat and bones.

If you feed your pet fresh meat, it should be a part of an entire diet - one that contains vegetable matter, fibre and other essential nutrients. Fresh meat by itself can be quite un-healthy. You should also feed the meat raw - animals in the wild have evolved to expect raw meat - not cooked! The same goes for your pet.
