Beware of meat that glows!

People buy pet meat because it's usually much cheaper than human grade meat. Often, this means preservatives are added to pet meat so they last longer. Preservative free meat is best for our pets to eat, but sometimes that's hard to avoid. Try to get meat with as little added preservative as you can. Here's a test.

If the meat looks really bright and red, it may be good and fresh - but it also may have lots of preservative added. If you leave some meat on a plate at room temperature for a day, it should start to look dull and dark after the day. If it still looks fresh and red then next day, it probably has lots of preservatives added to it.

Great quality meat at an affordable price

We're 100% believers in the benefits of feeding fresh raw meat diets to dogs and cats. Every day, hear the benefits from our many customers. It's beyond doubt. A fresh, good quality raw meat diet offer enormous benefits over carbohydrate based commercial foods.

We also understand that there's good quality meat, and then there's "pet meat". You know - the sort of meat that you look at and think 'Yuck'! Or the meat that is so packed full of preservatives that it glows fluorescent red in the fridge.

Yes! Preservative Free Meat!

After looking through our web site, you might have realised that we're not your 'regular' pet supply shop. We really want to do the very best we can to ensure you can feed your pet a healthy diet at an affordable price. Part of that commitment is that we offer as many of our meats as we can completely preservative free. Where we can, we also source our meat from human grade suppliers.

We process our own meat on-site from carefully selected suppliers. We have special arrangements that mean whole meat arrives with no or low added preservatives. We don't sell "puppy mince" or "rabbit mince" which is generally just cheap fatty meat.

Roo is Roo!

Many shops mix meats together to keep costs down. We don't do that - when you buy Kangaroo meat, it's 100% Kangaroo. The same goes for our other meat. This is important for some animals who are allergic to certain meat proteins. It's important to know that you're buying what the bag says you're buying.

Variety

Your pets naturally eat a variety of meat types in their natural diet. To help you mimic this natural diet, we're always looking out for different types of meat. We normally stock Kangaroo, Beef, Chicken, Rabbit and Ox Cheek but often have more exotic meats like Camel and Ostrich.

Fresh meaty bone

Bone is an important part of a raw meat diet. We have a great selection of frozen bone - preservative free of course! Again, we source our bone from selected suppliers who can provide good quality bone - not the fatty off-cuts you so often get from the butcher.
