We decided to update the web site about 6 months ago and began researching for that. The result was eye-opening for us to say the least. Previously, we'd understood general principals about feeding dogs and cats but this time around, we really knuckled down. We found many many sites that had interesting information that was never referenced or contained subjective 'stuff'. We really wanted to find some hard information.

We have to thank the guys at Vet's All Natural, K9 Natural and Mountain Dog Food. They have all provided great information, clues and links to hard research. We're not vets. But we know that peer-reviewed information can be relied upon.

What we've tried to do with the site revision is to present an overall picture about your pet's nutrition. We've read these sites, asked questions and presented the information as clearly as we can. We hope you find it helpful and informative.

The process has re-affirmed our approach to our business. We didn't open our shop to be a mega-mart. We're a small business who's mission is to help you feed your pets as healthily as possible - and that has meant some hard work for us and our suppliers. When we started out, it was impossible to convince our suppliers to provide raw meat without any added preservatives. We persevered, found different suppliers, and eventually, succeeded. Now, we have a huge range of different meats - human grade where possible. We still sell and recommend commercial dry foods - there are not enough sheep on the planet to feed all our pets (and that's a fact!). Not everyone wants to handle raw meat. For those people, we have foods that will keep their pets happy and healthy too.

Finally! An apology to cat owners! The site may appear to be extremely dog nutrition focussed! The reality is that there is a lot more research around about Dog nutrition thatn cats - that we found anyway!. Cats are different to dogs, but not so fundamentally different that the information here is not valid for them! Raw diets for cats rock too!
